![]() ![]() We have thousands of photographs and hundreds of videos of Harper being adorable and active and perfect. That evening Harper lovingly rocked baby Archie in his car seat, as well as doing her now famous jumping on the couch in front of the picture window and laughing and squealing with joy. On the evening before Harper fell ill, we enjoyed a Thanksgiving dinner with her. ![]() She could spend hours in her jumper if we let her, smiling, playing and eating snacks. Bouncing was her most favorite past time the last few months of her amazing life, whether on the bed, Grammy’s couch or her Baby Einstein jumper, particularly with Little Baby Bum nursery rhymes playing in the background. She had more toys than any other child we know and enjoyed them every day of her life with her family that she loved so much. Harper enjoyed walks outdoors and especially enjoyed meeting her cousins at Community Field, swinging on the swings and enjoying the slides there. Harper loved to make anything into a bracelet some of her favorites were colorful, plastic stacking rings, but most recently she even made pickles at brunch into bracelets. Harper loved her cats, Dexter and Valentine. She loved her many books and would spend a lot of time each day emptying her baskets of books and handing them to us to read to her. She loved music and musical toys, particularly the theme song to Muppet Babies and her Doc McStuffins’ Lambie toy and the song Lambie sings. She loved to eat, with her favorites being green beans, or “greenies” to her, strawberries, cantaloupe, and grilled cheese. Harper enjoyed so many things and was happy all the time. Hotel just before Christmas, where they ate gingerbread cookies in their jammies and swam together in the pool. She even had a sleepover party with her cousins at the D. Harper celebrated her first birthday surrounded by a large group of family, having brunch with Santa. She helped her Nan celebrate her 80th birthday last summer at The Log Cabin, and Harper even dressed up and participated in a Mermaid Parade. ![]() Harper had enjoyed maple breakfasts at several sugar shacks. In the Fall, Harper had done a full circuit of Fall Festivals with our family, something we hold near and dear to us. Harper had vacationed at the Cape, playing in the sand at Race Point, Provincetown and also had beautiful photographs taken of her on Nauset Light Beach, where the ashes of her grandfather Ed and Allie’s dog Kaylie have been spread. We had a family day at our favorite beach, Crane Beach, last summer. She picked strawberries and vegetables during weekly visits to Mountainview Farm and a range of Farmer’s Markets. We also enjoyed a beautiful evening at Tanglewood where we had a picnic dinner and she experienced her first concert. Harper dressed up for Halloween as a cat, a pink skeleton, a chick and a unicorn, and trick or treated. She had already attended her first Red Sox game at Fenway, watched countless games on NESN, and already had her first Patriots jersey. However, at 15 months of age, Harper had experienced a lot and had touched a lot of hearts along the way. We imagined that her passport would quickly fill up with all the places we planned to show her. Eating cream puffs at Courtney’s in downtown Dingle, Ireland the family Disney Cruise we were planning the trip to Vero Beach this Fall a stay at The Fish Camp on Tybee Island Christmas Markets going to her first Springsteen show with Grammy. There were so many things that we had promised Harper that she did not get to experience, and so many hopes and dreams we had for her. We are not sure why God would give us such a wonderful and perfect child for just 15 months and 9 days, but we feel so blessed and honored to have been able to love her each one of those days. Our sweet girl Harper was born in Greenfield, Massachusetts on December 9, 2018. Harper Violet Brewer passed away in the loving arms of her family on March 18, 2020, while we sang her favorite songs and “I Will” by the Beatles. ![]()
